Croatian Cyrillic Heritage (CroCyrHe)
The project Croatian Cyrillic Heritage focuses on the creation of a digitized corpus as a basis for future research and the development of new projects. The aim is to establish a freely accessible digital repository with digital reproductions of materials and their metadata descriptions (Open Science), while respecting the property rights of the owners (archives, museums, other institutions, and private collections). The project includes the modeling of bibliographic descriptions, the development of an application profile for Cyrillic documents and data entry into the database. These activities will be carried out at the Staroslavenski Institute in Zagreb and at the Center for Glagolitic Studies at the College of Zadar (GlagoLab).
The research includes Croatian Cyrillic documents from archives, libraries and museums in Croatia and abroad (Brač, Dubrovnik, Franciscan monasteries in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Herceg Novi, Kotor, Omiš, Rome, Sarajevo, Split, Šibenik, Zadar, Zagreb). The project is also open to the processing of private collections. The project staff will conduct field research, analyze and process the collected material. In the final phase, a Croatian Cyrillic font (CroCyr) will be developed for Office documents, together with a digital repository for watermarks, which will be linked to the repository for Cyrillic documents.
